Builder shot at Virar, 2 persons held - Daily News & Analysis

On Tuesday early morning a local builder from Nallasopara and his accomplice were shot by two persons in Mitbavwadi near Manvel Pada at Virar east, the CCTV camera captured the whole incident while Virar police has arrested two persons. Kuldeep Mahadev Chaudhary,27 and his friend HariShankar Dube arrived from a Movie theatre and halted their four wheeler MH 04 E M 400 near Kuldeep's residence at 1.40 am, meanwhile 2 persons with their face covered later identifed as Mehul Shyam Chodankar and Chandu Patil alias Dagdu arrived and fired 3 rounds on them, 2 bullets hit the car while one hit Dube on his left leg, the CCTV camera captured the whole incident which led police to arrest them in the morning. We have arrested Mehul Chodankar and Chandu Patil alias Dagdu under section 307(attempt to murder),34 of Indian Penal Code and under sections 3,25 of Arms Act, said Chandrakant Jadhav, Senior Police Inspector,Virar Police station. Mehul Chodankar fired 3 rounds on both of the victims as seen in the CCTV Footage and the injured Victim, Dube is out of danger and is admitted in a private hospital while both of the accused did not keep the records of the flat deals and were accused for cheating the Irish Group, a construction firm for 50-60 lakhs and when the victim had confronted both were delaying the process so they had a heated argument a day before and this led them to shoot both of them, said Jadhav. The CCTV footage and the victim's statement led us to the accused and we are investigating the case and would interrogate both of them to know from whom they got the country made pistol and are yet to confiscate the gun from them.
