LUCKNOW: The CBI team probing the murder of deputy superintendent of police Zia-ul-Haq and two others in Kunda tehsil of Pratapgarh is learnt to have got vital clues that indicate that two of the five accused in the case were not only present at the scene of crime but were also in constant touch with two persons in Lucknow. The investigators, however, are yet to establish if the two Lucknow numbers were being used by former minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya or any of his cohorts. Raja Bhaiya is one of the five accused named by the officer's widow Parveen Azad and had to resign after his name surfaced in the case. The FIR lodged by Parveen named district panchayat chairman Gulshan Yadav, Raja Bhaiya's driver Guddu Singh and another close aide Rajiv Singh apart from Hari Om Srivastava. The FIR names Raghuraj as the conspirator. After talking to Parveen, the CBI is almost sure about the presence of Gulshan Yadav and Srivastava at Ballipur village where the officer was killed on March 2. He had gone there to probe the murder of village pradhan Nanhe Yadav. Another evidence about their presence at the crime scene came in the form of entries in the general diary made by the now suspended in-charge of Kunda Kotwali, inspector Sarvesh Misra, when he returned to the police station for the first time after the DSP's murder. The inspector's note in the diary said when the police team reached the house of Nanhe Yadav, they found the body of the slain pradhan on a cot. A large crowd that had gathered there immediately targeted the police, as a result of which the cops ran for cover. Among those present at the site were Gulshan Yadav, Chhavinath Yadav, Hari Om Srivastava, Nanhe Pansi and others whom he could not identify as it was dark. Interestingly, although the inspector made these entries in the diary, he skipped most of these details in his statement before the CBI team. Sources said it was after this revelation that the CBI moved the special CBI court in Lucknow on Monday, seeking custody of Guddu Singh and Rajiv Singh, arrested by the Pratapgarh police on Sunday on the basis of the FIR lodged by Parveen. Although the CBI has sought their police remand for 10 days, special judicial magistrate Mirza Zeenat granted their police custody for six days starting 10 am on Wednesday. The CBI public prose cutor Purnima Gupta had moved an application saying that it was necessary to interrogate accused Guddu Singh and Rajiv Singh. The two were also produced in the court. The CBI next objective would be to recover the murder weapon and question the two about the involvement of other people to unearth the conspiracy. CBI sources also said that investigators were also set to talk to Parveen in Deoria on Wednesday. "They asked me if I had any plan to leave Deoria in the near future, and that they would come over to meet anytime soon," Parveen told TOI on phone. via Top Stories - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNHf-2edfjcZchR905bKD2rTWw7TBw&url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/DySP-killing-Call-details-show-2-accused-at-crime-scene/articleshow/18939900.cms | |||
