The autopsy report of Ram Singh, the prime accused in the Delhi gang-rape case, has suggested death by hanging. The autopsy was done by a team of three doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Singh was found hanging in his cell in Tihar Jail at around 5:30 am on Monday and the body was brought to AIIMS last evening after completion of various proceedings.

However, the post mortem could not be conducted on Monday as the Delhi Police failed to submit the required papers to the hospital on time.

Since it was a death under suspicious circumstances, the Delhi government had ordered an inquiry by a Metropolitan Magistrate.

Singh's parents and the Metropolitan Magistrate investigating the case were present throughout the 2-hour procedure conducted by doctors. An official report of the autopsy will be handed over to the magistrate by the hospital authorities.

Meanwhile, Singh's brother on Tuesday claimed that he was murdered and said that he saw injury marks on his body and finger marks on his neck.

He also said the family will take Singh's body to Karauli village in Rajasthan where the last rites will be held.

"My brother was murdered. I have seen injury marks on the body and finger marks on the throat," the brother, who did not wish to be identified, said.
