Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal praises his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi for addressing his first rally in the state after being elected as BJP's election campaigning chief for 2014 Lok Sabha Elections. Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Shanta Kumar and state BJP chief Kamal Sharma also addressed the gathering. Veteran actor and former MP Vinod Khanna also shared the stage with top BJP leaders. Narendra Modi is expected to make some important announcements here. Madhopur is known for Bharatiya Jan Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's last rally in 1953 against Article 370. He addressed this rally just days before he died. The rally will coincide with Mukherjee's 60th death anniversary. Modi, who is touted by many to be the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, was earlier this month appointed as the chairman of campaign committee for the 2014 polls. ![]() via Top Stories - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNELuu3n3tZX_LsjzCzVTFatsXHgjw&url=http://www.hindustantimes.com/Punjab/Amritsar/Badal-praises-Modi-for-addressing-his-first-public-rally-in-Punjab/SP-Article1-1080988.aspx | |||
