Union Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Ajay Maken resigned Saturday, saying he wanted to work for the Congress party, informed sources said. Maken, who is a Delhi MP and considered close to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, could be the new face of the Congress in Delhi, where assembly polls are scheduled this year-end, the sources said. In the past, Rahul Gandhi has intervened twice, asking Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and state party chief J.P. Agarwal to sink their differences and work unitedly.
