Modi takes jibe at PM, asks country to get rid of Congress - Hindustan Times

Debarjun Saha | 02:19 |
Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi who addressed his first public rally in Madhopur of Pathankot (Punjab) after being elected as chief of BJP's election campaign today asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that what did he do after Sarabjit's death? Modi said that future of the country was not safe in the hands of UPA government. Other highlights of his speech were:

I felt the grief after listening to painful tales of survivors rescued from Uttrakhand.

Congress has failed to provide security to its people.

Youth employment during UPA's rule is half of the employment provided by Atal Bihari's Vajpayees government.

Congress is never ready to acknowledge people's sacrifice. Dr Shyama Prasad is one of them.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee played a great role in addressing the Kashmir issue.

If NDA would have formed govt in 2004 the Kashmir issue would have been resolved.

Kashmiri Pandits would have got justice. Youth of J&k would have been employed. Jammu, Kashmir valley would have seen development.

I want to ask PM what did you do after Sarabjit was murdered and our soldiers were beheaded

Future of this country is not safe in the hands of the Congress govt

For future of this country we have to see the dream of a nation without congress

Gujarat has strong relations with Punjab.

We need to give preference to the security and unity of this country.
