NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed actor Sanjay Dutt's petition that his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case be reconsidered. A curative petition was filed after the dismissal of the review petition. The 53-year-old actor, who has been convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case for illegal possession of weapons, is currently lodged in Pune's Yerawada Jail. In 2007, Dutt was cleared of conspiracy charges in the attacks but found guilty of illegal possession of an AK-56 rifle and a pistol, which he claimed he required to protect himself and his family during a period of rioting in Mumbai. ![]() via Top Stories - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNGppYeZhvuI4Cvo-a5Mgj4HVr2efQ&url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/1993-blasts-case-Supreme-Court-dismisses-Sanjay-Dutts-curative-petition/articleshow/21274700.cms | |||
