BJP confident of getting 272 seats in Lok Sabha: Javadekar - IBNLive

New Delhi: Ahead of the general elections, BJP is holding the first meeting of its national campaign committee in Delhi on Sunday. Presided over by the party's campaign chief Narendra Modi, top leaders including LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh are present in the meeting. The main agenda of this gathering according to sources is to focus on the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls. The BJP leaders have expressed confidence over their preparation for the upcoming elections. "Rajnath Singh has said BJP's mission is 272 seats in the Lok Sabha and we can achieve this," said BJP Spokesperson Prakash Javadekar. Vijay Goel has been made the BJP Delhi Chief by President Rajnath Singh, but sources said that there is rising discontent within the party over Goel's leadership style. Sources said that BJP top brass including Modi want Goel replaced but the BJP President has been backing Goel. The main agenda of the first meeting of the national campaign committee is to focus on the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls. Earlier, the BJP launched a website to invite suggestions for its "chargesheet" against the "decade of misgovernance" of the Congress-led UPA. Party workers, supporters and the masses have been asked to give a feedback. The party is also working on reaching out to voters through the conventional routes of holding public rallies and door-to-door campaigns. On Saturday, the party had organised a media workshop for its spokespersons and media cell and asked them to be aggressive but maintain decorum and decency while countering the Opposition through television debates and press interactions.
