Lucknow On a day the Agra police unsuccessfully tried to locate Kishore Valmiki, the person named in the FIR for the conversion of 57 Muslim families at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Agra, a controversial letter surfaced in Aligarh, pointing to a well-organised conversion strategy.

The undated letter is in the name of Rajeshwar Singh, area chief of Dharam Jagran Samanvyay Vibhag, are urges members to raise money for conversions, saying, "50 programmes are being planned and over the year, one lakh need to be converted."

The letter states that their workers spend about Rs 2 lakh on Christians and Rs 5 lakh on Muslim issues - a purported reference to conversion ceremonies arranged by the cadre.

It states that 20 districts have carried out reconversion programs in which 40,000 'came back' (into the fold of Hinduism). Of these 40,000, there were 2,000 Muslims.

Mr Singh goes onto say that the program is an expensive one for which they need to collect money from people, to be able to hold more such programs.

It also instructs others to collect enough money for more ceremonies.

Even as uproar continued in Parliament, in Gorakhpur, BJP lawmaker Yogi Adityanath accepted that more such events were in the offing in the state. Sources say Hindu Yuva Vahini has plans of converting 2000 Christians in Ghazipur on December 18. Replying to a question on this, he said "So what is wrong in it? This is not conversion. I have a problem with this word."

Meanwhile in Lucknow, the state minorities commission issued a notice to the Agra administration to file a report with them about the incident within three days.
