NEW DELHI: Once again, the First Daughters of  the United States will give a miss to India. Sources have confirmed to Express that Malia and Sasha Ann, the 16 and 13-year-old daughters of President Barack Obama will not be part of the Presidential entourage. That means that they will not be able to see the Taj Mahal, along with their parents on January 27.

The two sisters had recently been listed by Time Magazine among its 25 most influential teenagers of 2014. Malia had recently been in the news for an unauthorised photograph uploaded on Instagram.

Officially, there is still no word or detail of the schedule and itinerary, with meetings still going on between Indian and US officials to give the final touches. A lot of the details have been kept open-ended for now, especially to prevent leaks, with media speculation at all time high.

So far, the skeletal outline of the visit is known that the US President, First Lady Michelle Obama and the accompanying team will land here in the early hours of January 25.  They will be given a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan forecourt in the morning and will lay a wreath at Raj Ghat. Obama and his host will then hold discussions, followed by a joint media briefing. In the evening, President Pranab Mukherjee will hold a State Banquet in the visiting dignitary's honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The next day will be all about fulfilling obligations as Chief Guest of Republic Day celebrations and take part in the 'At Home' tea party at the Mughal Garden lawns. The following day, Obama will deliver an address on India-US partnership, followed by the trip to Agra to view the Taj Mahal.
