A police officer said both the families were staying temporarily at the under-construction building. They had been living there for the past couple of weeks. Last night, the victim was sleeping with her parent on the second floor of the building. On early Wednesday morning, the victim's parents as well as the accused's parents and some other labourers woke up after hearing the screams of a girl that were coming from the first floor. "The girl's parents found their daughter missing and began a frantic search. In the meantime, other labourers went to the first floor. They saw the girl in a pool of blood and immediately alerted her parents. She was rushed to the nearby Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment," said the officer. The victim, the officer said, in her statement told police that the juvenile accused brought her to the first floor when she was sleeping and allegedly raped her. On the basis of the girl's statement and her medical report that has confirmed rape, a case was registered and the juvenile apprehended.
