| AHMEDABAD: The mystery behind a woman's murder has confounded the Chandkheda police. At the first glance the case seemed like a robbery turned violent murder. But after a closer scrutiny, cops feel there could be more to the story. Pushpa Nathwani, 45, a resident of Chandkheda, was killed by an unidentified youth. When police reached the spot, they found the house in a state of disarray with obvious signs of wardrobes and cupboards having been ransacked. "The woman stayed at Ratnakalash apartment with her 22-year-old son. Her daughter stays near their house, along with her husband. The deceased's husband stays separate in Nana Chiloda," said police officials. Her daughter, Jayashree Bavra, later filed a complaint with the Chandkheda police. She claimed two men were involved in the murder. One was waiting for the murderer with an escape vehicle, a car. Bavra has alleged that the youth was seen by bystanders jumping down and then escaping in the car. She has also alleged that her mother was wearing Rs 1.62 lakh worth of gold ornaments which are missing. The incident unfolded at 1.30 pm on Sunday, when people at a restaurant on the ground floor of the building heard a loud crash on the tin awning covering the restaurant. Later, employees and customers saw that a 25-year-old unidentified man jumped down on the tin shed from the third floor and quickly scaled down the drainage pipeline and ran off by the main road. "This seems to be a crime of passion. The youth had no reason to jump down the balcony of the third-floor apartment to the teen shed covering the restaurant. Her daughter told us that at 12.30 pm, Pushpa left her home after lunch.
