| JAISALMER: Lekhuram Meghwal, resident of Ganganagar, who was released from Kot Lakhpat jail from Pakistan in March, alleged that after Afzal Guru was hanged, Sarabjit, who is languising in a Pakistani jail, was attacked. He was also tormented earlier when Kasab was sent to the gallows, Meghwal alleged. Lekhuram was spent six-and-a-half years in jail with Sarabjit. Lekhuram resident of 13 MD of Gharsana tehsil in Ganganagar had inadvertently crossed over to Pakistan in 2007. Lekhruram was sentenced by a Pakistani court and said he often met Sarabajit in jail. Lekhuram alleged that after Kasab and Afzal were hanged, Pakistani jail inmates assaulted Indian prisoners with the support of the jail admninstration. He said after Afzal was hanged the "attacks" on Indian prisoners were on the rise. Recent attack on Sarabjit could have been a part of it, he further alleged. Sarabjit is already suffering from several diseases. Lekhuram said Sarabjit used to get emotional over his release and we used to console him. Although he (Sarabjit) was quite disappointed and depresssed, Indian prisoners in lakhpat jail used to console h im. Lekhuram also alleged that Indian prisoners are given a raw deal in Pakistani jails. "We undergo a lot of atrocities in the jails and are served very bad food. Indian prisioners are given very tough tasks," he said. Seemant Lok Sangathan's Hindu Singh Sodha said he had raised the issue of misbeahvour and double standards with Indian prisoners in Pakistan jails.
