New Delhi: Hours after President Pranab Mukherjee stepped in, Delhi Raj Bhavan late on Wednesday called BJP's chief ministerial candidate Harsh Vardhan for discussion, tomorrow, on government formation.
The Lt Governor Najeeb Jung's move came after President Mukherjee sought details from him about how he was proceeding on the issue.
After Delhi threw up a fractured verdict, the focus was on Jung next course of action. Over the last few days, Lt Governor has held discussions with experts to explore all options. However, as the BJP and AAP have publicly announced that they are ready to face another election to seek a clear mandate in their favour, the stage appears set for the imposition of President's Rule in the state.
The BJP had won 32 seats and AAP bagged 28 out of the total 70 seats in Delhi assembly.
The Election Commission had yesterday notified results of the Assembly polls in Delhi, paving the way for start of the formal process of government formation by the Lt Governor.
If President's Rule is imposed, then the Lt Governor will run the government with the help of a group of advisors.
