Maya continues with her jabs against Modi, Mulayam - Hindustan Times

Addressing her first election rally in eastern UP’s Bhadohi district on Sunday, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati continued with her attack on Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and held the Samajwadi Party responsible for the Muzaffarnagar riots.

Cautioning Muslims to vote against Modi, she said, “If Narendra Modi becomes PM, then communal acrimony will intensify in the country.”

Training her guns at Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, she said: “The SP government failed to control the Muzaffarnagar riots. There is no law and order in the state.”

Bhadohi has been the perfect example of BSP’s ‘Sarvajan Hitay Sarvayan Sukhay’ policy. For the last three elections, the BSP has been able to retain the seat due to its Dalit, Brahmin and Muslim vote bank.

However, this time BSP is facing stiff challenge from SP candidate Seema Mishra, daughter of SP leader and ‘muscleman’ Vijay Mishra.

In Allahabad too she continued with similar attacks on her political rivals.

“Modi is doing drama by calling himself a member of the backward class. I ask Modi, if at all he belongs to the backward class, should he not come clean on his caste too? BJP people are trying to fool the Dalits and the Muslims by visiting their localities and calling them brothers. Once elections are over, the same people would not let a Dalit sit by their side,” said Mayawati amidst applause from the large crowd at Allahabad.
