=============================================================

England Innings:

Over 8 || Score 38/0

First bowling change for India in the seventh over, as MS Dhoni gave the ball to Mohammed Shami. In this first over he gave seven runs. It's quite crucial for India that all their bowlers bowl at tight line to put more pressure on the the English batsmen. In the next over bowled by Mohit, the home team collected nine runs as Hales smashed him for two consecutive boundaries.

=============================================================

Over 5 || Score 20/0

English openers are flirting with danger at the moment. Out of Mohit and Bhuvi, the former one is troubling the Englishmen more, with his impeccable line and length. Both the openers are looking uncomfortable while facing Mohit. But India are still waiting for the first breakthrough.

=============================================================

Over 2 || Score 7/0

Bhuvenshwar Kumar and Mohit Sharma are sharing the new ball. On the other hand Alex Hales and skipper Alastair Cook are opning the innings for the hosts. Mohit is generating fair bit of swing. On top of it he is pitching the balls on right areas.

=============================================================

Finally a good news as rain has stopped and the match will start within a few minutes. After the rain interruption, now England have to score 295 runs in 47 overs.

=============================================================

Bad news for the cricket lovers. Immediately after the Indian fielders came to the ground, rain forced them to go back to the pavilion.

India Innings

Over 50 || Score 304/6

Jordan to bowl the last over of the innings. First ball, Four. Ashwin played a cheeky shot towards fine leg to collect a boundary. Then off the fourth he got the thick edge of his bat, which gave him another boundary, this time towards third man. And with that boundary India crossed the 300-run mark. Off the last two balls came three runs. Eventually, riding on the hundred-run knock by Suresh Raina India managed to put up a challenging total of 304 runs in front of the hosts in the second ODI of the five match series.

=============================================================

Over 49 || Score 291/6

Woakes ready to bowl his last over. Dhoni Out! Slow ball from back of the hand done the trick for Woakes, as Dhoni missed the line completely and hit it crashed into his stumps. R Ashwin is the new man in for India. Economical over by the bowler as he conceded mere six runs.

MS Dhoni b Woakes 52 (51b)

=============================================================

Over 48 || Score 285/5

From here on India would be eyeing to touch the 300-run mark. James Anderson to bowl the over. He used all his experience and changed his line, length and speed to stop the Indian batsmen to score runs swiftly. Four runs come from the over. Meanwhile Indian skipper too completed his fifty. A captains knock for the in-form batsman.

=============================================================

Over 47 || Score 281/5

Woakes to bowl the over. First ball, Raina Out! The southpaw tried to clear the extra cover boundary but found a fielder at deep in the form of Anderson and his fine knock came to an end. Ravindra Jadeja is the new man in after the fall of India's fifth wicket. Five runs came from the over.

SK Raina c Anderson b Woakes 100 (75b)

=============================================================

Over 46 || Score 276/4

With a single off the second ball off Jordan's over, Suresh Raina completed his fourth ODI ton. It's his first overseas hundred. What a knock by the southpaw, who was dropped from the Indian squad for the Asia Cup this year. Off the fourth ball, Dhoni collected a boundary towards fine leg. In the next ball Dhoni again got a boundary. This time towards square leg region by playing a flicking shot. Next was a huge wide down the leg side. Last ball was a dot. Eleven runs came from the over.

=============================================================

Over 45 || Score 265/4

In the last two overs India added 15 runs to their total. Both the batsmen are giving English bowlers a run for their money. England bowlers, especially seamers are feeling the heat, as they are giving too many extras. Raina is just one run shy of his hundred. Now five overs have left in the Indian innings and both the batsmen will look to score as many runs as they can.

=============================================================

Over 43 || Score 239/4

Strokes is ready to bowl his seventh over. Off the third and fourth balls Raina played two crunching shots to get two more boundaries. He first played an excellent cover drive and then complemented it with a equally well played straight drive. 12 runs came from the over.

=============================================================

Over 42 || Score 237/4

Tredwell to bowl the over. First ball, Raina came down the track and smashed the bowler for a six. But the Offie came back strongly and gave mere three runs in the next five balls. India collected nine from the over.

=============================================================

Over 41 || Score 228/4

Ben Stokes is ready to bowl the over. Off the first and and fifth ball skipper Dhoni played two cracking shots down the ground to collect two boundaries from the over. Another good over for the tourists as they collected ten runs came from the over.

=============================================================

Over 40 || Score 218/4

Suresh Raina is picking up his slots well and scoring easy boundaries all over the ground. Smart cricket by the southpaw. Off James Anderson, Raina smashed three consecutive boundaries off the last three balls. He is on a roll. Raina is not even respecting the prime English bowler -- Anderson.

=============================================================

Over 39 || Score 205/4

For the very first time after Lords Test, English bowlers are looking under pressure. They are bowling wide balls, they are loosing control over the ball. And Cook is haplessly looking it. In the 39 over Jordan bolwed five wide balls. It's quite an unusual site. But Indian are certainly enjoying it. 14 runs came from the over. Meanwhile, India also crossed the mark of 200 runs as well.

=============================================================

Over 38 || Score 191/4

Now the last 15 overs are quite crucial for India and Indian skipper would surely like to play till the very end of this innings along side Raina, who is looking in good nick. Woakes and Jordan are bowing in tandem at the moment for the hosts. Meanwhile, Raina completed his fifty in style. He first hit a straight six over the head of the bowler, Woakes, and then took a single off the next to raise his bat. Raina is on song now. As he smacked the bowled for another maximum, this time over square leg. And the last ball of the 38th over also crossed the boundary rope.

=============================================================

Over 34 || Score 148/4

MS Dhoni is finding it difficult to score runs. He has scored mere three runs in the last 11 balls. On the other end, Suresh Raina has reached to 26 off 35 balls, with the help of three boundaries. Off spinner Tredwell has bowled brilliantly so far as he leaked mere 27 runs in his eight overs and scalped two wickets.

=============================================================

Over 30 || Score 132/4

Rohit Sharma has completed his half century. Slow but gritty knock by the opener. He took 82 balls to reach his fifty-run mark with the help of four boundaries and a six. But immediately after that India lost his wicket as Rohit tried to clear the long-off boundary but eventually gave a simple catch to long off fielder. Indian skipper joined Suresh Raina in the middle after the fall of Rohit's wicket.

RG Sharma c Woakes b Tredwell 52 (87b)

=============================================================

Over 25 || Score 115/3

When Rahane and Rohit were looking solid in the middle and most of them expected them to take India back on track after the early blows, Rahane got out. He went for a defensive shot off Tredwell, missed the line completely, and Buttler took no time to dislodge the stumps. Leg-umpire went to the third umpire and he confirmed that Rahane was just short of crease. His fine innings came to an end. Suresh Raina is the new man in after the fall of India's third wicket.

AM Rahane st Buttler b Tredwell 41 (47b)

=============================================================

Over 22 || Score 103/2

James Tredwell, another offie, has been given the ball. It means spinners from both the end. Rahane has been impressive so far in his innings. He is middling everything. Meanwhile, India have crossed the mark of hundred runs. Indian have scored at the run-rate of 4.68, so far. Rohit is mere seven runs shy of his fifty, whereas, Rahane is playing on 38.

=============================================================

Over 17 || Score 75/2

Joe Root has been introduced into the attack in the 17th over. Let's see how much help he will get from the wicket, which is expected to help spin bowlers. Chris Jordan is bowling from the other end. India need a big partnership from these two. They have already added 56 runs for the third wicket.

=============================================================

Over 15 || Score 64/2

Rohit Sharma is looking quite comfortable. He has started scoring boundaries at will. Ajinkya Rahane who has joined Sharma in the middle after the fall of Kohli's wicket too is looking solid. Sharma has quickly moved to 29 off 45 balls, whereas, Rahane is playing on 16 off 21 balls with the help of two boundaries.

=============================================================

Over 10 || Score 26/2

Two consecutive blows for Team India, as they lost opener Shikhar Dhawan and one-down Virat Kohli in the 8th over bowled by Chris Woakes. First Dhawan got the thick outside edge of his bat and gave a simple catch to wicketkeeper Butter. And then after a gap of two balls Kohli tried to play an aggressive shot over mid-off but couldn't clear the inside fielder and got out for a duck. After poor Test run, both the batsmen failed one again to make any impact once again.

V Kohli c Cook b Woakes 0 (3b)

S Dhawan c Buttler b Woakes 11 (22b)

=============================================================

Over 5 || Score 11/0

After five overs India have scored eleven runs without losing a wicket. Both the Indian openers -- Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma -- are playing sensible cricket in the middle. India desperately need a solid partnership from these two to put up a big score on the board.

=============================================================

Toss: England have won the toss and elected to bowl first.

New Delhi: After a washout in Bristol in the first ODI, India and England gear up for the second ODI which promises better conditions for match time. After a 1-3 Test series drubbing in a convincing manner, India will look for change of fortunes. Now with a four-match ODI series left in the cards, India need to get their act right in Cardiff.

Neither England nor India can claim to have started in the best shape as the countdown for the ICC World Cup in 2015 has ticked off. While the rain tippled down in Bristol, washing out the first of five contests, there was enough aggravation off the field to occupy both sides.

Weather again will play a huge factor as it has been the case of English summer. For India their opening combination will want to click as that missed so much in the Test series. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan need runs atop and the likes of Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane too need to put their woes behind and come good.

Karn Sharma promises to be an interesting aspect as Umesh Yadav too will be raring to go. For England Alex Hales will get his debut today and the likes of Ian Bell, Gary Ballance and Joe Root who have been amongst the thick of runs, will look to continue with their show.

England lost the ODI series against Sri Lanka but will go in as favourities against a jaded India in Cardiff and also in the series.
