Social activist Anna Hazare on Friday said that both Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi are "unacceptable" as prime minister as both are "not fit" to acquire the dignified post. Hazare on Friday questioned the integrity of the Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and said he was not acceptable to him as Prime minister. If he thinks Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi could be the one, he said Nehru-Gandhi scion was no different either. Both of them, he said, were unacceptable as they are unfit to hold the post of prime minister. Hazare was in Farrukhabad on Friday, 200 km west of Kanpur, leading his 'Jantantra Yatra'. "If Modi is an honest man why did not he appoint the Lok Ayukta in the state he rules," Hazare asked in response to a query from reporters. Instead Modi, he said, impeded the efforts to install the anti-graft ombudsman, which he felt was not required to fight corruption. On being asked could Rahul Gandhi suit the top job, Hazare said he was not the right candidate nor was he different than Modi. He took pot shots at the poverty fixation criteria of the government he said "I will love to see the politicians and bureaucrats eke out a living with Rs. 34 a day. They should be asked to set an example for others to emulate." Stating that party politics has bred corruption, Hazare sees his second struggle for Janlok Pal bill at Jan Mantar in Delhi in December will be the game changer. "My Jankranti Morcha is bring six crore workers together for the second crusade," he said. Hazare pointed out there was no provision for a political party in the constitution. People should select the right candidates on their own and send them to the parliament. "I will campaign for any candidate who is the choice of people," he assured. "I will dedicate my three months campaigning for such candidates," he said. "The corruption has become a bane for the ordinary people who are being made to suffer because of political greed. General masses were getting aware of their rights that they 'own the public servants'. It is a good sign," he said. ![]() via Top Stories - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNH76Tc7Em4-8-ZwdcleNHR1DHfpKA&url=http://www.hindustantimes.com/India-news/UttarPradesh/Modi-Rahul-not-acceptable-as-PM-Anna-Hazare/Article1-1098688.aspx | |||
